Twenty five employees from the Anti Infective (AI) Franchise brought cheer to children and women of Rumah Wake (Women and Health Association Kuala Lumpur) - a home for HIV infected and affected children and women within the Klang Valley, when they organized a Christmas party on December 15, 2003.
The half day event began with a rehearsal of sorts at the MSD office before everyone set out towards Rumah Wake. Upon arriving at the home, all residents of Rumah Wake received presents and were treated to some Christmas caroling and story-telling by the MSD team.
Fun-filled games with the children such as ‘passing the monkey’, ‘balloon drawing’ and face painting by the children on the visitors created laughter all around.
To show their appreciation, the residents of Rumah Wake entertained the visitors to a song and dance routine which included a wide selection of their favourite songs. The Rumah Wake women and children, together with the MSD staff then sat down and ate a hearty lunch together before goodbyes were said.
The residents of Rumah Wake consist of 9 women and 13 children from the ages of 2 months to 14 years with 3 caretakers to help look into the needs of the residents of the home.
Lee Kwok Fun, Therapeutic Business Group Director of the AI Fanchise shared, “Today’s gathering is a continuation of our ongoing support towards the HIV/AIDS cause. More importantly, we were able to spread cheer and kindness to the wonderful children during the festive season.”
