To further complement its continuing medical education initiatives for health care professionals, MSD spearheaded the National Forum 2004 which addressed the ‘Management of Hypertension and Hypercholesterolemia – A new perspective and its implications’.
Attended by over 400 doctors, the main objective of the forum was to explore the emerging changes and challenges in the management of high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels and to highlight the newest developments in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
Commenting on the forum, Mr. Ewe Kheng Huat, Managing Director, Merck Sharp & Dohme said, ”We feel that it is important to be in the forefront of initiatives such as this. Such programs provide doctors an avenue to learn about the latest advancements in medical therapy for the benefit of patients.”
At the forum, doctors were kept abreast of the latest trials and developments with regards to hypertension and hypercholesterolemia through the various plenary sessions led by medical experts from Malaysia, USA, Denmark and Singapore.
The forum was co-organised under the auspices of the National Heart Association of Malaysia (NHAM) and is a Malaysian Medical Association Continuing Medical Education (CME) accredited meeting.
