MSD Malaysia's commitment to ethics is recognised beyond the healthcare industry. On 23 May 2006, MSD received a Certificate of Commendation when it participated in the inaugural Malaysian Business Ethics Excellence Award, presented by the Business Ethics Institute Malaysia (BEIM), the Malaysian Institute of Integrity and the Ministry of Domestic Trade & Consumer Affairs.

The award was introduced for the first time to recognise responsible and outstanding business practices among the local and international companies in Malaysia and to encourage a better business environment. Category of awards is based on the size of the company, sales turnover per year and the number of employees.

Accepting the certificate on behalf of MSD Malaysia, Tee Chiew Khim, HR Director said, "We are honoured to have received the commendation. It demonstrates our mission and commitment in putting patients first and conducting our business with integrity."
