MSD Malaysia treated forty five children to a day of fun-filled activities aimed at lifting their spirits during the festive season in December 2006.

In this MSD Malaysia's second Lend-A-Hand project, the company reaffirmed its social pledge to building long-term commitment to supporting charitable organizations and to foster volunteerism among our employees by re-visiting Rumah K.I.D.S., a home for orphaned, neglected and abandoned children in Klang.

Focused on providing support for the home, the company organized a donation drive amongst employees to collect much needed essential items.  Besides the employee donation drive, MSD Malaysia volunteers were given the day off to spend the day with the kids.  The day was spent watching a movie, lunch and shopping for school uniforms in lieu of the start of a new school year.

Mr. Ewe Kheng Huat, Managing Director of MSD Malaysia acknowledged, "Spending a day with these children may seem like a small gesture, but it means a lot to MSD if we're to help make their world a better place to be in whichever manner we can."

The Lend-A-Hand program, launched in June 2006, is an umbrella for MSD Malaysia community and charitable activities, and is dedicated to establishing long-term commitments with organizations and causes that help make a difference in local communities.

This community program allocates two Fridays in a year to gives employees time off to focus on meeting society's needs by fostering volunteerism among employees.

Rumah K.I.D.S. is one of the non-profit organizations under the Lend-A-Hand program that MSD Malaysia aims to be acquainted with and returning to in the long term to effectively make a difference.
