

Tell Someone In Style returned in 2007 with the same aim, to increase awareness of cervical cancer and HPV-related diseases among Malaysian women. The awareness project with a fashion spin led by MSD Malaysia and supported by the Malaysian Designers Association of Malaysia (MODA) was similar to the 2006 campaign except for the involvement of some new designers and a new campaign partner, Giordano.
“This time, we were very pleased to have Giordano on board as a partner for Tell Someone, In Style. With Giordano’s widespread appeal and geographical reach, we were able to make the T-shirts available to those residing outside Klang Valley. This will certainly give our cervical cancer message a greater reach,” said Abby Tan, Corporate Affairs Director, MSD Malaysia.
Gillian Hung, President of MODA said, “With this awareness project, we hope that fashion can make a difference in the lives of women who know very little about cervical cancer. By encouraging people to spread the word about the disease and its preventability, more lives can possibly be saved. Our designs are mostly inspired by the increasing need for cervical cancer knowledge and reflect a confident and proactive approach towards life.”
The MODA designers for the 2007 campaign were Gillian Hung, Nazleen Noor, Daniel Cho and Key Ng. As with the inaugural Tell Someone, In Style in 2006, a portion of the proceeds from the sales was used to fund awareness and interactive programmes held by the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) in colleges, aptly named ‘Take Charge with Confidence’. The programme, which began in November 2007 in colleges around Klang Valley, is aimed at educating young women about basic cervical health and disease prevention. Selling for RM49 each, the Tell Someone, In Style T-shirts were made available for sale in selected Giordano outlets - Bukit Bintang, Suria KLCC, Mid Valley Megamall, Gurney Plaza Penang and City Square Johor Bahru from October to December 2007 or while stocks last.
